
On the occasion of Navratri and World Savings Day, the government has made a major announcement for women empowerment. The government will provide 25 lakh new Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Gas connections.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared this information through his social media post, saying that during Navratri, the scheme will further strengthen women’s power and ensure their health and happiness. He said this decision will not only bring convenience to women but will also give them confidence, strength, and self-reliance.
Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri also confirmed this. He said that before Navratri, 25 lakh new Ujjwala beneficiaries will be included under the scheme.
Cost of Connection
For each connection, the government will provide a subsidy of ₹2050. At present, under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, there are already 10 crore 35 lakh active beneficiaries across the country.
Expansion of the Scheme
According to the Petroleum Minister, the addition of 25 lakh new connections is a significant step towards women empowerment. In the upcoming phases, the government will continue expanding the scheme to include more women beneficiaries, ensuring their participation in development.
