IGNOU MPSE 003 June 2018 Question Paper which was held in June 2018. Candidates have to attempt 5 questions in all, selecting at least 2 from each section. Each question need to be answered in 400 words.

- How is Political thought distinguished from Political Theory and Political Philosophy ? Explain.
- Write an essay on Plato’s methodology.
- Discuss St. Thomas Aquina’s understanding of the relationship between the Church and the State.
- Describe the basis on which Mechiavelli classified forms of government.
- Analyse Kant’s conception of the universal law of right.
SECTION – II
- Critically examine the Hobbesion concept of Sovereignty.
- Comment on the following statement of J.S. Mill : “It is better to be Socrates dissatisfied than a fool satisfied.”
- Discuss the importance of the theory of alienation in Marx’s Political theory.
- Examine Burke’s views on Religion and Toleration.
- Write short notes on the following :
(a) Kant on Perpetual Peace
(b) J. S. Mill on Representative Government
