Free Doorstep Medical Services for the Elderly: Chief Minister

Patna: The Bihar government will soon provide essential medical services at the doorstep of senior citizens in the state. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has directed the Health Department to implement a special healthcare scheme for the elderly at the earliest.
Under this initiative, elderly citizens will not need to visit hospitals frequently for basic medical needs. Instead, healthcare services will be delivered directly to their homes. The Chief Minister emphasized that the aim of this scheme is to ensure timely treatment and improve the quality of life of senior citizens.
Providing details, Nitish Kumar said the state government is continuously working to make Bihar one of the most developed states in the country. Various welfare schemes have already been implemented to make everyday life easier for the people, and this new healthcare initiative is another step in that direction.
Facilities to Be Provided
The following services will be offered under the doorstep healthcare scheme for senior citizens:
Nursing assistance
Pathological (lab) tests
Blood pressure and ECG tests
Physiotherapy facilities
Support during emergencies
Basic medical assistance at home
The Chief Minister stated that the government’s objective is to reduce the difficulties faced by elderly citizens in their daily lives and ensure they receive proper medical care without inconvenience. This scheme is expected to bring significant relief to senior citizens across Bihar and strengthen the state’s public healthcare system.
