JEE Mains 2026 to Have Aadhaar-Based Facial Recognition for Candidate Verification

In a major step to enhance exam security and prevent impersonation, the JEE Main 2026 examination will introduce Aadhaar-based facial recognition for candidate verification. The move aims to ensure transparent and fair conduct of one of India’s most competitive entrance examinations.
Under the new system, candidates appearing for JEE Main 2026 will be verified using facial recognition technology linked with Aadhaar data at examination centres. This digital verification process will help authorities accurately confirm the identity of students and reduce cases of malpractice, including the use of dummy candidates.
Officials said that the technology-driven verification method will streamline entry procedures at exam centres while strengthening the integrity of the examination process. Aadhaar-based authentication has already been used successfully in several government exams and recruitment processes, and its expansion to JEE Main marks a significant technological upgrade.
Students will be required to ensure that their Aadhaar details are correctly linked during the application process to avoid any last-minute issues. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has assured candidates that data privacy and security protocols will be strictly followed.
Education experts believe that this step will boost confidence among genuine aspirants and create a more level playing field. JEE Main 2026 is expected to see lakhs of candidates competing for admission to premier engineering institutions across the country.
